Recently MS-900 got a minor update, but for some reason the changes aren’t included in the skills outline PDF, instead they are mentioned on the exam information page itself. The changes are naming related, and address some, but not all of the older names that are still in the PDF.
The product team recently completed efforts to rebrand several technologies that are in scope for this exam. The changes include:
- Windows Virtual Desktop is now Azure Virtual Desktop
- Workplace Analytics is now Viva Insights
- Cloud App Security is now Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Microsoft 365 Security Center is now Microsoft 365 Defender portal
These changes are reflected on the exam as of January 28, 2022.
The reference to System Center instead of Configuration Manager in the endpoint management section is still there, but the other outdated names referenced previously have been updated. A change I expected to see that isn’t listed yet is the inclusion of Windows 365. This seems like a better fit than Azure Virtual Desktop, and over time I assume we will see questions where the two of them would be compared.
